Location: Charlotte, NC
In partnership with the Nurse Manager, ensures implementation and maintenance of the Novant Health Care Team Delivery Model. Organizes and directs the work of nursing units and programs; coordinates team to assure that effective nursing services are provided, and quality standards are met. Clinical Unit Leaders take ownership in creating an environment that allows team members to be present with patients and their families. Supports and removes barriers to aid front-line nurses to be in direct patient care at least 70% of the time. Supports nurse manager in achieving goal of spending at least 50% of his/her time on the unit. Increased time on the unit allows nurse leaders to be visible, present and available to team members to provide necessary mentoring, teaching and interaction on both a personal and professional level. Focuses on achieving daily operations and assist leadership team in meeting ongoing unit objectives including quality, financial vitality, employee and customer satisfaction, continuously assesses work environment and processes to identify safety risks.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of two years clinical RN experience in an acute care setting required. Prior demonstrated nursing leadership required.
- Licensure/certification/registration: Current RN licensure in appropriate state required. BLS required. Unit/Department Specific Certifications required.
- Additional skills required: Successful completion of generic and department-specifics skills validation and competency testing. Ability to successfully complete Leader Education & Training.
