Job Summary:

The Director of Supply Chain Operations is responsible for overseeing all material management in operations across the footprint of Novant Health. Supply Chain operations could but not limited to Procedural (surgical services, interventional radiology, EP, Cath Lab, central processing), medical surgical (linen, central, mail, courier operations) and logistics (Novant Logistic Center, CARS). Relationship builder within the healthcare system with leaders, peers, physicians and subordinates around product standardization, contract implementations, vendor management and distribution of materials within the designated area of support. Oversee the leaders that mange all inventories with a focus reducing expenses related to use of material not on contract and ensuring that new technology requests go through the requisition process for introduction into Novant Health. The Director provides leadership, mentoring, career development and training of staff in each of the facilities with the market.


  • Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of seven years of experience in healthcare or supply chain/material management/process improvement leadership positions with knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes required.
  • Additional skills required: Ability to apply sound business principles and practices to system management and change management processes. Strong analytical and facilitation abilities. Strong collaborator with a positive and optimistic approach to teamwork. Ability to lead multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams in a matrix structure. Strong interpersonal skills and mastery level of written and oral communication skills. Ability to liaise with peers and senior leaders both within and across business units. Experience in people coaching and development.
